2004 Clos Pepe Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir

Clos pepe Vineyard is another very cool climate site, and the fruit from this vineyard gains a terrific natural acidity and heavy tannins. As with the Alder Springs Pinot Noir, we kept the 2004 Clos Pepe Pinot in barrel through Harvest 2005 in order to soften the tannins and to let the wine develop further. With a little bottle age it will open up nicely, and it
promises to continue developing for several years. Red fruits, chalky
tannins, and very nicely integrated natural acidity combine to great effect, yielding a wine with great complexity, balance, and elegance.
