2004 La Brisa Kanzler Vineyard Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir

The 2004 Kanzler Pinot comes together in a superb expression of the vineyard and the appellation. Meaty, dark, and brooding, with lush fruit layered upon damp earth and forest floor. Very nice tannic structure and acidity, and a bit of powdered clay and very slight notes of citrus zest on the nose. The fruit ranges from the middle-range of red fruit to dark blackberry, but it is in conjunction with the earthy qualities of the appellation that this fruit really shines.
