2005 Dutton Ranch Russian River Valley Pinot Noir

From the Thomas Road Vineyard in the small Green Valley appellation of the Russian River Valley, our 2005 Dutton Ranch Pinot Noir is a classic expression of both the vineyard and the
appellation. With lush fruit ranging from cherry to blackberry, this vintage has yielded a very pretty wine, but its beauty is well balanced with grip and structure. Toasted oak gives a lift to the finish and a great component to the aroma. As it opens up, floral components arise on the nose with a quality reminiscent of fruit pastilles, and the fruit on the palate deepens with a creamy texture and a long finish. It is drinking well now, despite having just been bottled in August, but allowing it to breathe a bit once open will enhance the experience. It will continue to evolve nicely over the next several years.
